Highlights, Scores and Recaps for Tuesday, May 10th, 2016

Steinbrenner, Alonso and Gaither will represent the Tampa regional at the state final four as each won their regional finals Tuesday to advance.

CJ Van Eyk struck out 13 in a four-hitter in Steinbrenner’s 3-0 win over East Lake. The Warriors (25-5) advance to the state final four for the first time in school history. They’ll face Westland Hialeah at 7 p.m. May 20th in a semifinal.

Alonso nipped Gateway 2-1 to reach the state final four for the first time since 2011 when it won the title in 6A. The Ravens (24-6) take on Columbus in a semifinal at 1 p.m. May 20th.

Gaither beat Melbourne 5-3 to make it to the state tournament for the first time since 2005. The Cowboys (18-6) will play Belen Jesuit in a semifinal at 1 p.m. May 19th.
