Northeast Rolls Past Pinellas Park
The Northeast Vikings ticked off their third straight win on Wednesday night, defeating the Pinellas Park Patriots by a score of 5-1.
Cameron Cooper kicked off the scoring for the host Vikings in the bottom of the second, driving in Adam Arrendondo with an RBI single.
The Patriots even things up again in the top of the third thanks to a sacrifice fly by Chase Wilson.
After scoring another run in the bottom of the third, Northeast broke the game open in the fourth by scoring three runs. Ryan Cook doubled in two of them and then scored himself when Derek Jaar hit into a fielder’s choice later in the frame.
J.P. Hollandsworth earned the win for the Vikings. He tossed over five innings and held the Patriots to one run on three hits.
Northeast now sits at 8-2 (3-0 in 7A-10) and has built up a nice head of steam heading into a district matchup against Osceola on Friday night.
The Patriots fall to 6-4.
