East Lake’s Travis MacGregor No-Hits Pinellas Park
Travis MacGregor picked a great time to deliver his best performance of the season. The senior tossed a no-hitter over district foe Pinellas Park to lead his East Lake squad to a 3-0 victory on Friday night. The Eagles (7-4) take sole possession of first place in 8A-7, moving a half-game ahead of Countryside for the top position in the district with a 4-1 record.
The win also gives the Eagles a season sweep over the Patriots (6-5, 1-4), with both victories coming by way of a shutout.
MacGregor allowed just two base runners on walks to Tyler Phillips and Triston Allen, and he ran up nine strikeouts on 89 total pitches. He improved to 4-0 on the season and has yet to allow a run, boasting a perfect 0.00 ERA with 34 strikeouts over 20 innings and four starts.
Kevin Lambert supplied the biggest hits to back their ace, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Lambert drove in Reid Zeitzberg and Jakob Sessa, and tallied the other run thanks to an RBI double from Andrew Belcik.
