Keswick Christian Picks Up 12-3 Win Over Bradenton Christian
Keswick Christian has started the season strong, picking up two wins in the seasons first week, the latest of which came Thursday afternoon in a 12-3 win over Bradenton Christian.
Tommy Simpson, Nick Boesch, Will Killpatrick and Tanner Suarez helped lead Keswick Christian, all with big days at the plate The group combined for eight hits and five RBIs. Kilpatrick, Surez, and Zach Petchonka had two RBIs each on the day.
On the mound, it was Josh Guerin who went five strong innings picking up the win. Guerin threw 73 pitches, allowing only two hits while striking out six. Christian Horner came on and closed the door in the sixth, striking out the side to secure the win.
The fourth inning was the big frame for Keswick Christian, as they added four more runs to an already 4-1 leadf. A sacrifice fly scored Nick Boesch for the inning’s first run. That was followed up by Killpatrick’s single, bringing home Josh Paulton.
After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the fifth, the Bradenton Christian Panthers Varsity faced just a 9-3 deficit. A two-run single by Aaron McDaniel triggered the Bradenton Christian Panthers Varsity’s comeback. Finally, Josh Guerin got Ramsey to fly out to end the threat.
After a tough first week, Bradenton Christian will move into district play next week when they face Out-of-Door Academy on the road. The Crusaders will also begin district play next week, facing Lakeside Christian after a roadt trip to play Gulf Coast.
